Sometimes Kirby Smart’s post-game media availability is a recitation of some of the same coaching points. He talks about keeping your composure, and how SEC football games last four quarters. But this one had a little extra juice. After Georgia’s come-from-behind 20-10 victory over the Auburn Tigers the Top ‘Dawg spoke on a variety of topics, including:
- What he told his team after the game (but can’t repeat in public).
- His message at halftime and how the Bulldogs climbed out of that first half hole.
- His vantage point on Jackson Arnold’s pivotal goal line fumble.
- The story behind that time out call that wasn’t. For the record, I still don’t quite believe him, and I also wouldn’t have corrected the officials if they gifted me a free timeout primarily because Jordan-Hare Stadium was rockin’ too hard for them to understand my explanation.
- A poignant moment he shared his his son Andrew, and a hint at the toll coaching in the SEC takes on a man.
- Some thoughts on Gunner Stockton, a gutsy Bulldog offensive line, and some other players who just refuse to give up.
As always our sincere thanks to our friends at Bulldawg Illustrated for their crack videography. Please head over there directly for more fine Georgia Bulldogs coverage. Until later…
