Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season kicks off tonight with a Thursday showdown featuring the Minnesota Vikings heading west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

The Chargers were pantsed by the Colts at home on Sunday, falling 38-24 to drop their third game in the last four weeks. Running back Kimani Vidal didn’t quite have the explosive game that he had in their victory the week prior and we’ll see if he can step up in this midseason primetime contest.

Below, we’ll go over Vidal’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 8.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers RB Kimani Vidal

Vidal logged just nine carries for 20 rushing yards and four receptions for 15 receiving yards in Sunday’s loss to the Colts. It was a steep drop-off from his 124-yard rushing outburst against the Dolphins the Sunday prior and this could most likely be chalked up to L.A. having to go pass heavy after falling into a multi-score deficit early in the contest.

The second-year back has been on the field for at least 64% of the offensive snaps in back-to-back games since taking over for an injured Omarion Hampton. With fellow back Hassan Haskins dealing with a hamstring injury this week, the Troy product could see an even bigger workload against the Vikings tonight.

Start. I’d bank on the Chargers wanting to get their run-game going early tonight and the possibility of Joe Alt returning could it easier to get that accomplished. Vidal could really make his mark as the only healthy contributor in the running back room at the moment and I like his upside as a Flex start this week.
