Kim Kardashian is marking one year since losing her close childhood friend, Lindsay May Palevsky.
The SKIMS founder, 45, took to Instagram on Monday, Nov. 3, to share a heartwarming tribute on the first anniversary of Palevsky’s death. The post began with a throwback photo of the friend group that Kardashian has long referred to as her “lifers,” alongside a touching message.
“A year without you,” Kardashian wrote in the caption. “The world paused on Nov 2nd and I know a part of the lifers went with you. Time feels strange without you here. We all see you in purple skies and butterflies. I love you forever, my lifer. 💜🦋”
Other photos in the carousel included a close-up of a bracelet engraved with “best friends,” two pictures of Kardashian and Palevsky as adults, a sweet snap of Palevsky holding up two puppies and an image of purple flowers on her gravesite.
Palevsky died on Nov. 2, 2024 from a rare form of cancer, 13 years after first being diagnosed. In July, eight months after her death, Kardashian honored her in a loving Instagram tribute.
“It was just your birthday and I know you never liked to make a big deal of it, but Happy Heavenly Birthday, Lindz 💜🦋” the reality star captioned a series of photos.
“I waited months to post this, mostly because I couldn’t find the right words,” she continued. “Nothing really captures how quiet and empty our lifers chat feels without you in it. I know you’d probably roll your eyes at me posting anything — especially since you didn’t really even have social media — but I couldn’t go through this lake trip without feeling you everywhere, and I needed to share it.”

The annual vacation often fell on Palevsky’s birthday, and Kardashian further shared moments she captured of her late friend blowing out candles on her cakes.
“The lake was your happy place. It made you feel lighter, healthier … you were you,” Kardashian wrote at the time. “It’ll always be our favorite lifers tradition because it’s where we spend time with all of our kids being together and get real time with each other without any outside noise. We felt your absence this year in every sunset, every laugh, every quiet moment.”

She went on to note that several of the images in her post were taken during their 2023 trip: “I feel so grateful for all the memories we made. We miss you so f—ing much, Lindz. Our world is not the same without you. I guess that’s why I hold onto this lake tradition so tightly. We’ll always have the lake — and in that, we’ll always have a piece of you.”
Palevsky appeared several times on The Kardashians as a part of the mogul’s “lifers” group. In 2023, she appeared in an episode documenting Kardashian’s 43rd birthday dinner.
Shortly after her death, Citizens of Humanity created a pair of jeans in Palevsky’s memory called “The Lindz.” A portion of the proceeds went to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation.
