Hall County’s interim county attorney, Justin Lawhon, was named the permanent county attorney.
County officials said Lawhon began serving as interim county attorney in June.
“Justin has served in an interim capacity for the past several months and has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in the Law Department,” Hall County Board of Commissioners Chairman David Gibbs said. “We are excited to welcome him aboard as Hall County’s official attorney and fortunate to have someone with Justin’s institutional knowledge on our team.”
Lawhon has served in Hall County’s legal department since 2022, working as senior assistant county attorney before being named interim county attorney.
“Hall County looks forward to all that Justin will accomplish in his new role and the continued guidance and leadership he will provide in service to the Hall County community,” Gibbs said.
Lawhon’s official start date as the county’s new attorney is Friday, Oct. 24.
