“I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Jeremy Jordan to Just in Time—his talent, charisma, and emotional fearlessness make him the perfect artist to step into the role of Bobby Darin,” said director Alex Timbers.

Timbers teased what Jordan will bring to the role. “We’re excited to tailor the show to Jeremy’s many gifts and make a version of the show unique to him,” he said. “Watching Jeremy bring Bobby’s swagger, vulnerability, and musical brilliance to life on Broadway is going to be electric, and I can’t wait for audiences to experience it.”

Jordan is currently playing Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby after originating the role in 2024. The actor returned to the musical stage adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s seminal novel in November 2025 and is set to play his final performance on March 7.

The stage star first left The Great Gatsby in January 2025 to play the titular role in Floyd Collins, earning a Tony nomination. Other Broadway credits include Bonnie & Clyde, West Side Story, Newsies and Rock of Ages. Off-Broadway, he notably starred in Little Shop of Horrors.

Jordan has also crossed over into the film and television world, landing major roles in Supergirl, Smash and Hazbin Hotel. He is also the lead singer of the rock band, Age of Madness.

Both he and Groff were each up for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical at the 2025 Tony Awards for their respective roles. The two Broadway regulars even sweetly posed for a photo at the press day.

The Just in Time original Broadway cast recording, featuring Groff, Gracie Lawrence and Erika Henningsen, is currently nominated for Best Musical Theater Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

“Every night in the theater feels like a gift,” Groff previously told PEOPLE about Just in Time. “We’ve been developing this musical for eight years now, and when we first started, I never thought I’d have anything in common with Bobby Darin besides a love for his music. But as I’ve dug into who he was, I’ve felt such a connection with this man; what drives him, what he represented to people, what performing meant to him.”

“So it’s been a joy to tell his story, because in ways that are probably not obvious to anyone else, I see me,” he continued.

Tickets for Just in Time are now on sale through Sept. 6.
