Jackson White Exposes Hilarious Truth Behind His Calvin Klein Underwear Shoot with Girlfriend Grace Van Patten

The steamy, behind-the-scenes secrets have been spilled.

Jackson White opened up about the hilarious realities of his sexy shoot for the new Calvin Klein Valentine’s Day campaign, which stars him and his Tell Me Lies costar and real-life girlfriend, Grace Van Patten.

The actor, who shares the screen with Van Patten, both 29, on the hit Hulu romantic drama, went into the nitty gritty of the photo shoot while speaking to Jimmy Kimmel during an appearance on the eponymous late night show Wednesday, Jan. 21.

The comedian kicked the conversation off by asking if there was an intimacy coordinator on the Calvin Klein set, a topic that followed White’s explicit explanation of how the sex scenes with his girlfriend were choreographed for the series.

“Yeah there was, actually,” White told Kimmel, 58.

However, despite the couple’s real-life romance and natural chemistry, the photo shoot was a lot less organic due to the mechanics of the clothes they were modeling and the directions they had to follow from the coordinators on set.

“It was all like, ‘We’re doing this sweet thing, we’re posing, we’re dating, we’re free, it’s great.’ But then they’d be like, ‘No! Cut!’ ” White recalled, explaining how they would be strategically staged during the shoot. “Then the guy would run out and move the underwear so it looks right.”

“And what is his job title?” Kimmel asked of the unidentified man who jumped into the shoot. The actor quipped, “Um, Tucker?”

The clever reply that garnered an immediate applause from the audience as well as a laugh from the comedian. “Folder? Waistband guy?” he also suggested.

Kimmel assured, “Tucker’s good.”

PEOPLE had an exclusive look at the steamy Clavin Klein shoot, which dropped on Jan. 20 and immediately went viral upon its release. Shot and directed by Zora Sicher, the campaign sees the couple in the brand’s limited-edition collection for the holiday of love.

White and Van Patten can be seen sharing kisses, showering and snuggling up — all in their skivvies. The campaign, called Our Calvins, includes new products, from the men’s Icon Cotton Stretch to the women’s Icon Cotton Modal Unlined Bralette.

The couple first met when they auditioned for Tell Me Lies three years ago. On the show, White and Van Patten play college students and lovers Stephen DeMarco and Lucy Albright, respectively — a couple who give new meaning to the word “toxic.”

In real life, they’re anything but. “God, we’re way less exciting than Lucy and Stephen,” Van Patten told PEOPLE in August 2025. “We’re way less dramatic, which I am very thankful for.”
