STEPHENS COUNTY, Ga. — Fire crews from across Stephens County spent hours battling a massive blaze Tuesday afternoon after multiple structures caught fire on South Panther Creek Road.

Stephens County 911 received the first call just before 2 p.m. Carnes Creek, Shiloh, and Eastanollee fire departments responded, along with Stephens County EMS and sheriff’s deputies. When firefighters arrived, they found several structures fully engulfed in flames, according to a news release by Carnes Creek Fire Department.

Because of the intensity and size of the fire, command quickly requested mutual aid from the Toccoa Fire Department and Habersham County Emergency Service.

The fire destroyed several structures on the property and displaced the residents. (Carnes Creek Fire Department/Facebook)
