*A Douglasville woman is facing several charges after a child in her care was found dead, and others were left without food with some reportedly eating roaches and ants because of their hunger. Investigators were reportedly called out to the home in late March, where a one-year-old had died. The toddler was allegedly in the home with several other children for about 12 hours without food. Atlanta News First reports that a 10-year-old child was left to watch over the other children in deplorable conditions. A neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous said she never saw 37-year-old Sherry Magby at home. Magby’s relationship to the children was not immediately known.

*Expanding access to birth control for Georgians without a prescription could soon become a reality. HB 138, recently passed by the House and Senate, is headed to Governor Kemp for approval. If signed into law, people 18 and older can obtain birth control pills and injections from pharmacies without a prescription. Josh Greeson, a pharmacist in Pooler, tells WSAV-TV that doing so will help the healthcare system, which is overburdened.
