After a hiker fell and was unable to move on Monday, White County emergency services were dispatched to the scene to assist.
According to White County, they were dispatched at around 2:30 p.m. to the Mount Yonah Trailhead off of Chambers Road after the report.
White County Fire personnel responded with equipment designed for trail extrication. They entered the trail and located the hiker roughly one mile up.
A UAS1 drone was deployed to provide overwatch and confirm the hiker’s location.
The hiker was rescued and transported by White County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Gainesville for further treatment.
The incident wrapped up at around 4:30 p.m.
