*Gov. Kemp is proposing a plan to help reduce homelessness in the state. The AJC reports part of Kemp’s budget proposal includes $50 million for initiatives like transitional housing, emergency shelters and street outreach teams. He pointed to the World Cup at the state’s capital as an impetus to improve. Applications for this grant program are expected to require matching funding from local communities.
*The Macon Telegraph reports that Forsyth is a step closer to hosting the state’s largest data center. The city council Monday voted to approve the 12-million-square-foot facility, which would be built on about 1,600 acres in the middle Georgia town. And, according to the Griffin Daily News, less than a month after the Spalding County Commission okayed a third data center, a proposal for fourth has surfaced. It would be built on Tomochichi Road near Georgia 16.
