GAINESVILLE — A late-night fire destroyed a two-story home in Hall County on Saturday, according to Hall County Fire Rescue.

Crews were dispatched around 10 p.m. Nov. 16 to the 3500 block of Thorn Drive, where they arrived to find the residence fully engulfed in flames. The home, built on a crawl space, was already heavily involved when firefighters arrived.

With assistance from the Gainesville Fire Department, crews launched a defensive attack, using Tower 21’s elevated water stream and multiple hand lines to bring the blaze under control.

Firefighters conducted a primary search and confirmed no one was inside the home. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced homeowners.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office. No injuries were reported.
