The number of building permits issued by the City of Gainesville last year increased by 160 over 2024, according to the city’s Building Inspection Department.
That includes 57 more permits for new single-family homes – 393 versus 336 – and four apartments in ’25 compared to 12 the year before.
In addition, there were 33 permits for new commercial/industrial construction versus 42 in ’24.
