Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is about to lose a million dollars a year in federal funding, but officials say that does not mean they are shutting down. However, officials say that loss of support means they will rely more on donations.

There are 22 public radio stations in Georgia GPB Radio Stations | Georgia Public Broadcasting including two in our area: in Demorest (WPPR) and in Athens (WUGA). The Demorest station is affiliated with Piedmont University, and the Athens station is an affiliate of the University of Georgia.
