OAKWOOD, Ga. — Apalachee used a 15-8 second quarter to take control and then went on to a 40-32 win over West Hall on Tuesday.
The Lady Wildcats (4-4) led just 8-7 after the first quarter but Sophia Beaty poured in 9 of her game-high 13 points in the second quarter to help them run out to a 23-15 halftime lead.
West Hall (2-3) was unable to close the gap as each team scored 17 points in the second half. The Lady Spartans had 10 players score, led by 7 from Aaliyah Jelks. Jayla Jordan and Yatsar Matos had 5 points each.
The Lady Spartans next will play host to Jackson County on Friday.

Junior Adelyn Gough paced the Lady Lightning (3-2) with 10 points and 6 rebounds. She also added 2 assists, 2 steals, and blocked a pair of shots.
Freshmen Kimsey Caldwell and Julianne Roberts had solid games as well. Caldwell had 8 points and 6 rebounds and Roberts had 8 points and 4 rebounds. Junior Elliana Clark added 6 points and 4 rebounds for LCA.
