A Gainesville man has been arrested for the sexual assault of a juvenile female earlier this year.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said that the victim, who was under the age of 16 , disclosed the assault to a female relative who was living out of state. The relative traveled to Hall County to take custody of the girl and to report the assault to law enforcement.
The 58-year-old suspect, identified as Gerald Christopher Andujar, initially was arrested the night of April 14, 2025, just hours after the girl had disclosed the sexual assault to her relative.
At that time, HCSO patrol deputies responded to a residence on Sardis Road to investigate a domestic disturbance where Andujar had physically assaulted the relative who had traveled to Georgia to retrieve the child.
That night, Andujar was arrested on charges of simple battery and third degree child cruelty. He was released on a bond of $1,850 on April 18.
The relative transported the juvenile victim back to her out-of-state residence. Law enforcement in that jurisdiction collaborated with HCSO investigators on the sexual assault investigation.
A warrant for felony child molestation was secured, and Andujar was taken into custody Monday, Oct. 27. He remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.
