A Gainesville man is facing multiple charges, including false imprisonment, following a weekend domestic dispute in northwestern Hall County.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies responded to a home on Belvedere Drive at 5 a.m. Sunday to find Ivan Lopez, 32, and a female victim at the scene after a neighbor had called 911.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim and Lopez became involved in a verbal argument that turned physical inside the home. During the argument, Lopez allegedly dragged the victim by her hair from one room of the house to the bathroom, where he slammed her against a wall and the toilet.
Lopez also turned on the shower and threw the victim into the shower wall. At one point, Lopez dragged the victim from the shower and threw her out of the residence, HCSO said. He then grabbed her phone and tossed it into a wooded area.
Two minor children were inside the residence during the incident, however, HCSO confirmed they were not physically injured.
Lopez remains in the Hall County Jail without bond. He faces additional charges of battery under the Family Violence Act (FVA), criminal trespass (damage to phone) and two counts of third degree child cruelty.
