Moderate, severe, and extreme drought conditions now cover all of Georgia, except for parts of four west Georgia counties which are considered “abnormally” dry, the lowest measure of severity on the scale that is used to measure drought conditions.

In northeast Georgia, virtually all of Barrow County is now considered “extremely” dry along with the southern part of Jackson County, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM).

Meanwhile, the level of Lake Lanier remains unchanged for the third week in a row. It remains at 1065.5.
