Four people were injured following a chain-reaction collision along Ga. 365 Tuesday.
According to a report from the Georgia State Patrol, four vehicles were traveling north along Ga. 365 in the left lane, south of White Sulphur Rd. just after 6 p.m.
Three of the vehicles were traveling in front of the 2005 Acura MDX driven by 27-year-old Libby Couch of Cornelia, and slowed due to traffic congestion from the traffic light ahead.
Couch’s vehicle was reportedly driving too closely and struck the rear of the vehicle in front of it. After the initial collision, the front of the second vehicle struck the rear of the vehicle that was in front of it. This then caused a third collision in which the third vehicle struck the rear of the fourth vehicle that was in front of the other three.
As a result, Couch, a passenger in Couch’s vehicle and the driver of the initial vehicle that was struck were all transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for injuries. One person was treated at the scene.
Couch was cited following too closely and seatbelt requirements.
