A former Rabun County Schools employee has been arrested for alleged inappropriate contact with a minor.
The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) posted on Tuesday that Daniel Guevara was taken into custody on Friday.
Guevara was reportedly not a teacher, but a “support employee.”
“The safety and well-being of children in Rabun County are among our highest priorities, and these allegations were treated with immediate seriousness from the moment they were brought to our attention,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
According to the department, the school system notified them immediately and terminated Guevara’s employment, issued a criminal trespass notice, and fully cooperated with the investigative process.
RCSO added that there is no indication of an ongoing threat to other students.
They also added to contact them with any additional information regarding the case. No other details have been released as of the writing of this article.
