Former Buford quarterback Ashton Daniels will split practice reps with current Auburn QB Jackson Arnold.
Auburn coach Hugh Freeze told the media yesterday of his plans.
The Tigers have scored a total of 54 points in four consecutive losses, so Freeze is considering shaking things up at the all-important QB position heading into Saturday’s game at Arkansas.
Freeze says Arnold has played well in the first half of the last two games. But adds that “you still have to start looking at everything.”
“We’re going to get he and Ashton a lot of reps and kind of see where it goes from there,” Freeze said.
Arnold has thrown for 1,190 yards and five touchdowns this season. He has also run for 261 yards and seven scores.
Daniels completed almost 63 percent of his passes for 1,700 yards, 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season at Stanford.
In his three seasons with the Cardinal, he was 366-of-602 with 3,986 yards, 22 TDs and 20 INT. He also rushed 283 times for 1,121 yards and nine TDs.
