Football: Top-seeded Jefferson blows past Harlem

JEFFERSON, Ga. – Jefferson rolled through the second round of the Class 3A playoffs Friday night, taking down Harlem

Darren Pickard started off the scoring in the first quarter with a 2-yard push before jumping in from the 1-yard line to take a 14-0 lead early. He kept his great night going in the second quarter from nine yards out for his third touchdown of the evening.

Leading 28-7 at halftime, Pickard scored a fourth touchdown of the game in the third quarter, and Eli Primm capped off the night with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Jefferson will play host to Cairo next week after the Syrupmakers won their second round game.
