With only two weeks remaining, some area teams remain in a battle for a region championship.
There are several key region battles with either region title implications or a chance to get into the playoffs.
Two of our three games are crucial region battles on the Jacobs Media airwaves this week. We’ll also have coverage of all 19 games on AccessWDUN’s Friday Game Night page.

Jefferson at Cherokee Bluff — Region 8-3A is heading toward a wild finish. All Jefferson needs to do is win out, and the Dragons can claim another region title. But it won’t be easy with Bluff and Oconee County left on the schedule. The Bears won’t have it easy against the Dragons’ stingy defense. Still, though, Bluff has the ability to score points, but if they allow the Dragons to have it their way, it could be a long night in Flowery Branch. White County at Chestatee — This game really has no meaning other than one getting a win over the other. Chestatee blew its chances of finding a way into the playoffs with the loss to Dawson County, and White County hasn’t been in the race for a while. However, this game has the makings to be a very good one. The game can be heard live on FM 102.9 (Click to listen live).
Roswell at Gainesville — It’s the final hurdle for Big Red this week. They get a win over Roswell, and they can claim the Region 7-5A championship and a No. 1 seed in the state playoffs. However, Roswell wants to play spoiler at City Park on Friday. If they do, all the Hornets will have to do is knock off Milton next week to claim the region title. Gainesville seems to have its eyes on the prize, so we don’t see a Hornet celebration at City Park. The game can be heard live on FM 94.5 The Lake (Click to listen live).
