BUFORD, Ga. – Buford pitched a shutout Friday night in the opening round of the GHSA Class 6A playoffs, knocking off Richmond Hill, 43-0.
Torre Costin caught two touchdown passes to kick start the offense, linking up with Dayton Raiola for an 11-yard score in the first quarter and a 32-yard touchdown to start the second. After Silas Nuckles had a 58-yard pick-six, Dream Rashad caught a 36-yard pass from Raiola to push the score to 29-0.
Andrew Ivanciuc hit a 25-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to take a 32-0 lead into intermission. Midway through the third quarter, Raiola hit Braydon Watson for a 36-yard touchdown. Ivanciuc had two more field goals on the night, one from 47 and the other from 38.
Raiola finished the day 12-for-20 for 209 yards and four touchdowns.
Buford will play host to Newton next week in the second round.
