Fall continues to be dry around Northeast Georgia, with drought conditions worsening throughout the state.
The latest conditions released by the U.S. Drought Monitor on Thursday, October 16, show all of Barrow, Gwinnett and Jackson counties, along with the southern portions of Hall, Forsyth and Banks counties, being under “moderate drought” status.
Northern Hall, Banks and Forsyth counties, along with all of Dawson and Stephens counties and most of Habersham, Fannin, Lumpkin and White counties are under “abnormally dry conditions” according to the monitor. Rabun, Towns and Union counties are the only portions of the region not under some drought status.
