Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green walked across the court to confront a fan sitting on the baseline after he was heckled for missing shots and grabbing his own rebounds. Green said after the game that the fan was calling him “a woman’s name” and it turns out it was WNBA star Angel Reese — whose “mebounds” taunts were turned into a viral t-shirt by the Chicago Sky forward earlier this year.

Green got in the fan’s face before the jawing was broken up by teammates and the refs. Watch the interaction here:

The Warriors beat the hapless Pelicans, 124-106. After the game, Green and the fan — identified as 35-year-old New Orleans resident Sam Green — both talked about the interaction.

“It was a good joke at first, but you can’t keep calling me a woman,” said Draymond Green. “I got four kids, one on the way. You can’t keep calling me a woman.”

The fan said that Draymond threatened to punch him if he continued. He said that he did not sure profanity while heckling that the Warriors star, but that Green hurled profanity back at him.

The fan said he used an “Angel Reese” taunt because Green missed five straight shots and rebounded the first four. Here’s the play:

And here’s what it looks like in the play-by-play data:

Angel Reese had a terrific year for the Chicago Sky, and is quickly becoming one of the better forwards in the WNBA as he enters her third pro season. Green wishes he could score or rebound as well as Reese can relative to competition.

It’s hard to say who comes off worse here between the fan and the Warriors veteran. One thing is for sure: both of these guys need to grow up.
