Disneyland ‘MAGA Invasion’ Organizers Say Meetup Will Coincide with Gay Pride Event: ‘Even More Fun Now’

The organizers behind the “MAGA Invasion” of Disneyland event say they “didn’t plan” for the meetup to happen on the same day as a local gay pride event. However, they claim their gathering will be “even more fun now.”

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, a conservative group located in Southern California posted on Facebook calling for a meetup of “like minded patriots” at Disneyland. The group, called 805 Patriots, shared an infographic for the unsanctioned, unofficial event to be held on Feb. 28, 2026.

One of the organizers said the purpose of the event is to “go have some fun by triggering as many liberals as possible” in the park.

After the story was picked up by other media outlets, the group responded to coverage on their Facebook Stories on Thursday.

In response to a Disney Dining article entitled “MAGA Plans Disneyland Takeover on the Same Day as Gay Pride Event,” they wrote: “Well we didn’t plan this at all but will make this even more fun now.”

A post shared by the account in their “SoCal Patriots!” Facebook group shows a clip of local outlet KTLA’s broadcast coverage of the story.

In the caption, they said, “Turns Out I Accidentally Planned this for a GAY Day 😂 Yall Have To Come Will Be Hilarious To Ruin Their Day!!”

According to local organization Gay Days Anaheim’s website, the group is planning to host “Mini Gay Days” the weekend of Feb. 28. The group typically hosts one large annual meetup — scheduled for September in 2026 — but is including additional programming next year.

While the Disneyland Resort hosts a variety of official events throughout the year, neither of these gatherings are officially organized or endorsed by the park in any way. Fan-organized events, like Dapper Days, Villains Days, Nurses Days and other themed meetups often attract crowds of their own, but Disneyland reserves the right to deny guests entry based on their dress code or other violations.

On 805 Patriots’ website, the group is selling clothing items for adults, kids and babies with their “Make Disney Great Again” design.

“Wear a ‘patriots in the park’ T-shirt & a red MAGA hat,” the post instructs its followers. “Ordering a shirt is an RSVP that y’all bought tickets to Disney.”

The group is discouraging participants from bringing flags as the park officially prohibits them.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, Disneyland announced the return of their “After Dark” series. These are separately ticketed, all ages events officially endorsed and run by Disney. They take place throughout the year, typically tied to a certain brand or holiday. One of the themed celebrations is an official “Pride Nite” on June 16 and 18, 2026.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the event will celebrate the “LGBTQIA+ community, bring allies and community together for a festive evening featuring rainbow projections, lively décor, dazzling entertainment and more.”

The 805 Patriots did not respond to PEOPLE’s multiple requests for comment and Gay Days Anaheim did not respond in time for publication.
