As the trial for Colin Gray, father of the accused Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray, continued Wednesday in Winder, testimony was given by Jason Smith of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office. It was Smith who conducted a video interview with Colin Gray following the shooting.
Prosecutors on Wednesday wanted to establish the different stories he told to at least two different law enforcement officials during interviews following the mass shooting. Those stories varied regarding where the guns were kept in the family home and whether he knew that the man in a photo posted on Colt Gray’s bedroom wall was that of a Florida mass school shooter.
Part of Smith’s testimony centered around weapons Colin purchased for his son, including a rifle that was used during Colt’s first hunt in 2022.
The prosecution today is expected to introduce and show law enforcement video taken inside the school in the aftermath of the shooting.
