*Dozens of employees at Coca-Cola’s Atlanta headquarters are losing their jobs. The beverage giant just filed a notice that 75 workers will be laid off at the end of February as a re-organization continues to evolve. The company hasn’t released which positions are affected.

*The GBI has announced that the parents of the young Rock Springs boy will not face charges following an investigation that deemed the shooting accidental. Authorities believe the toddler shot himself in the head with a loaded gun that his father had left on a nightstand after he came home late from work on Christmas Eve. The child remains in the hospital.  

*The largest bank based in Georgia has finalized its merger with a Southeastern rival, forming one of the country’s largest regional banks. The AJC reports Columbus-based Synovus Financial and Nashville-based Pinnacle Financial Partners completed their merger Thursday, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The all-stock transaction was valued at $8.6 billion.
