Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry are skirting the law with Mark Ruffalo on their tail in Crime 101

The heist thriller, from director and co-writer Bart Layton, released a twisty new trailer on Thursday, Oct. 23, ahead of a Feb. 13 theatrical release from Amazon MGM Studios.

“Set against the sun-bleached grit of Los Angeles,” reads its synopsis, Hemsworth’s elusive thief stages “high-stakes heists unfolding along the iconic 101 freeway.”

Adapted from Don Winslow’s acclaimed novella and co-written by Peter Straughan, Crime 101 also stars Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Nick Nolte.

Berry, 59, plays an insurance broker who ends up collaborating with Hemsworth, 42. But Ruffalo’s “relentless detective,” per the synopsis, “closes in on the operation, raising the stakes even higher.”

“As the multimillion-dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all three are forced to confront the cost of their choices — and the realization that there’s no turning back.”

“I’m real good at reading people,” Berry’s character tells Hemsworth’s as they suss each other out in the trailer. “What have you read about me?” he asks. 

“You look like a person who has secrets. You got the cars, the clothes. But can’t seem to look me in the eye,” the Oscar winner responds.

The trailer shows glimpses of the Thor star’s various robberies along L.A.’s 101 freeway, culminating in posing as a driver for Ruffalo, 57 — who drops not-so-subtle hints that he’s onto his old Marvel costar. 

Crime 101 is in theaters Feb. 13.
