New episodes of Chad Powers, the hit football comedy starring Glen Powell, are now streaming weekly on Hulu and Disney+. The series debuted with its first two episodes on September 30, 2025, followed by Episode 3 (“3rd Quarter”) on October 7. New episodes will continue to roll out every Tuesday through October 28.

Filming in Georgia: From Athens to Atlanta

Production for Chad Powers took place across Georgia, with major filming locations in both Atlanta and Athens. One of the standout shoot days occurred at Sanford Stadium, home of the Georgia Bulldogs (GO DAWGS!). On October 12, 2024, Powell suited up as his character Russ Holliday during halftime of the real Georgia vs. Mississippi State football game, leading a group of fictional players onto the field—only to be greeted with real boos from the crowd, who had no idea they were watching a live scene being filmed.

Additional scenes were shot at Center Parc Credit Union Stadium (Georgia State University’s football stadium, formerly Turner Field). According to Georgia State’s athletics department, the venue had to be flipped from a production set back to a playable football field—and then back again—on a weekly basis throughout filming.

About the Series

Chad Powers follows Powell as Russ Holliday, a once-promising college quarterback whose career crashes after a scandal. In a last-ditch effort to redeem himself, he dons a disguise and walks on to play for the fictional South Georgia Catfish, a struggling football team hoping for a comeback.

The show takes its inspiration from an ESPN+ sketch where former NFL star Eli Manning went undercover as “Chad Powers” to try out for the Penn State football team—a clip that went viral and laid the groundwork for this full-length comedy series.

Powell’s Role On and Off the Field

Glen Powell isn’t just the star of Chad Powers—he’s also a co-creator and producer, collaborating with Michael Waldron (Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and Eli Manning’s Omaha Productions. A lifelong college football fan, Powell brings his Texas Longhorn pride and passion for the sport to every scene.
