*The driver of a car that struck the front of a Gainesville supermarket Sunday afternoon escaped serious injury, according to police. 97.5 Glory FM has confirmed that it happened at the Kroger in New Holland at Limestone and Jesse Jewell parkways. Damage to the building was minor.

*Banks County authorities have sounded the “all-clear” following a hazardous materials scare overnight Sunday. The sheriff’s department, in a Facebook post, says it happened on the I-85 North off ramp at U.S. 441. The ramp was blocked by a large barrel leaking an unknown fluid when it was discovered. The substance turned out to be a solution used in separating water and oil.
