Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season rolls on and the game of the week will feature the Kansas City Chiefs traveling to Western New York to battle the Buffalo Bills at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Chiefs are rolling into Buffalo on a three-game win streak and last made light work of the Commanders in a 28-7 victory this past Monday. Running back Brashard Smith didn’t contribute much to the win, but could possibly see the field a bit more in today’s showdown.

Below, we’ll go over Smith’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 9.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs RB Brashard Smith

Smith only contributed three carries for eight yards in Monday’s win over the Commanders, a steep drop off from the week prior where he registered 14 carries and five receptions against the Raiders. His workload against Las Vegas was due to Kareem Hunt exiting the game with an ankle injury and with Hunt back in the mix last week, the seventh-round rookie went right back to receiving occasional snaps on offense.

There could be a chance for Smith to see an uptick in snaps with Isiah Pacheco being ruled out with a knee injury. However, that could be complicated with the team electing to elevate veteran Clyde Edwards-Helaire from the practice squad for this matchup. We’ll see how many carries the rookie actually gets against the Bills.

Sit. That Raiders game may prove to be a huge outlier as I don’t see Smith getting any more than a few carries with veterans like Hunt and CEH in the lineup. Leave him on the bench this week.

Sit.
