We began with 27 POY Nominees for girls basketball (nominated by head coaches). BLITZ has established a finalist group of 6 players, with the opportunity for the public to vote on ONE MORE to join that list. The finalists are: Huey Blalock (Rabun), Hayes Free (Rabun), Blayne Gunter (White), Hudson Huff (Franklin), Essien Lockleer (Commerce), and Jake Mihalick (Habersham).
Those up for the ‘Last Finalist’ spot are ones that we felt were very close to making our initial finalist pool. Following the ‘Last Finalist’ selection, our internal voting panel will vote Heisman-style for the winner.
