Hello and welcome to the Week 9 waiver wire watch!
Another weekend of NFL action is mostly in the books and we’re quickly approaching the midway point of the 2025 regular season. Several kickers continue to have strong seasons and in many cases have been the determining factor in fantasy matchups.
We’ll go over some performers that you should consider scooping off the waiver wire ahead of Week 9 and as always, we’ll classify a waiver add as someone who is rostered in 50% of leagues at the max.
Week 9 byes: Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ka’imi Fairbairn, K, Houston Texans (49.7%)
Fairbairn played a vital role in the Texans getting back on track on Sunday, booting four field goals and two PAT’s in their 26-15 victory over the 49ers. The veteran has been floating around the top five of fantasy kickers for most of the season now and Sunday’s performance marked the third game this season where he’s put at least 14 fantasy points on the board for managers.
Houston will have its hands full on offense when matching up against Denver’s defense this Sunday and there will be drives where it will need to depend on Fairbairn’s leg to put up points. He should be able to maintain his status as a top-five kicker after this week.
Week 9 matchup: vs. Denver Broncos, 1 p.m. ET
Jason Myers, K, Seattle Seahawks (13.5%)
The Seahawks are returning from their bye and Myers has a chance to jump back into the top-five after falling a few spots due to their break this past weekend. The two-time Pro Bowler does have a handful of misses this season, but he’s remained consistent and has scored 10+ fantasy points in four of his last five outings. I trust him to pick up where he left off when Seattle travels cross country to face Washington in primetime.
Week 9 matchup: @ Washington Commanders, 8:20 p.m. ET
Chad Ryland, K, Arizona Cardinals (2.1%)
Arizona is also returning from a bye in Week 9 and will look to put to bed a five-game losing streak where every single loss has come by one score. Ryland has been an underrated piece that has kept the Cardinals in these tight ballgames, going 13-15 on field goal attempts and a perfect 16-16 on PAT’s. He’s averaging 9.1 fantasy points per game and given the number of scoring opportunities the Cards could have against the Cowboys’ poor defense, he could blow right past that season average next Monday night.
Week 9 matchup: @ Dallas Cowboys, 8:15 p.m. ET (Monday night)
