Basketball: EHall-NHall, ranked girls showdowns highlight Tuesday action

The biggest night of the young season is set for Tuesday, complete with region-opening contests for a pair of northeast Georgia area teams.

The Lakeview Academy and Riverside Prep boys will get their GIAA District 4-4A/3A schedules under way. 

The Class 3A No. 1-ranked Cherokee Bluff girls, the defending Class 3A state champions, will open their season against Central Gwinnett. The Lady Black Knights are coached by former Gainesville High and Georgia standout Tasha Humphrey.

The White County girls, ranked eighth in Class 3A, heads to Class A D1 No. 3 Rabun County in a battle of teams expected to make deep playoff runs.

But East Hall travels to North Hall in a traditional rivalry showdown at Lynn Cottrell Court to highlight the night.

Tuesday, Nov. 18

Apalachee at East Jackson, 6 p.m.

Calhoun at Jefferson, 6 p.m.

Central Gwinnett at Cherokee Bluff, 6 p.m.

East Forsyth at Dawson County, 6 p.m.

East Hall at North Hall, 6 p.m.

Gilmer at Union County, 6 p.m.

Jackson County at Flowery Branch, 6 p.m.

Lakeview Academy boys at Riverside Prep, 6:30 p.m.*

Lumpkin County at Towns County, 6 p.m.

North Forsyth at Creekview, 6 p.m.

White County at Rabun County, 6 p.m.
