Growing up brought big changes — and challenges — to the Brady Bunch cast.

Appearing in the CW’s docuseries, TV We Love, Barry Williams talked about the changing emotions on set as the stars went through adolescence.

Producer Lloyd Schwartz, son of creator Sherwood Schwartz, directed a 1973 episode called “Room at the Top,” where Marcia Brady and Greg Brady — played by Maureen McCormick and Williams, respectively — fought to claim the attic space as solo bedrooms, tired of sharing space with their younger siblings.

“There was a scene where Barry came into Maureen’s room and she’s sitting there, and he sits down on the bed next to her,” Lloyd recalled.

Greg tried to comfort Marcia after realizing he pushed her too far in their argument, leaving her in tears. However, it was then that Williams was told their chemistry didn’t seem strictly platonic.

“I remember the scene, I remember the day,” Williams, 71, said of the moment. “I remember the day Lloyd discovered that there might have been a little bit too much attraction between brother and sister.”

“Maureen McCormick is very, very attractive… so I was, you know, gravitated right to her, and it was coming out in our scenes together,” he laughed.

“I’m sitting a little too close, leaning in a little too far. We finished the scene, and it was kind of like steam there. And he was right,” he continued. “It’s very hard to hide that chemistry. Lloyd was on the set, and he pulled me aside and said, ‘Good scene. I just want you to keep in mind here that she is your sister.’ ”

Williams, who is one year older than McCormick, was 14 when he began filming the show, while she was 13. At the end of its five-season run, they were both in their late teenage years.

During an episode of The Real Brady Bros earlier this year, Christopher Knight, who played Peter Brady, recalled sensing the chemistry between his two costars.

“You two were looking a little bit close, a little bit less like brother and sister and more like …” Knight began, as Williams suggested, “You mean dreamy-eyed?”

“The longing kind of wide-eyed. Yeah. That was you. And she was looking dreamy,” Knight, 67, responded.

“It was sort of like on-again, off-again with Maureen and I throughout the years,” Williams explained. “There was always a little dance being played that was broken up by hiatus.”

TV We Love airs Mondays on the CW at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
