Athlete of the Week awards go to distance runners Windham, Black

The BLITZ Track & Field Athletes of the Week are Witt Windham (Lumpkin) and Julie Black (White). Windham won the Fan Vote with 2,038 of the 3,176 total votes. White was the BLITZ Pick.

WITT WINDHAM – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Distance star Witt Windham earns his FIFTH BLITZ POW award this year (four in XC season). The sophomore for Lumpkin placed 1st in the 800 with a 1:59, and 1st in the 1600 with a 4:25 in the Christian Coleman Invite.

JULIE BLACK – WHITE COUNTY

Julie Black had a great showing in White County’s meet last week. The Lady Warriors’ senior was 1st in the 1600 (5:21) and 1st in the 3200 (11:36). This is her second career POW award.
