ASI Southeast, a manufacturer of washroom accessories, toilet partitions, and lockers, will expand its existing operations in Toccoa-Stephens County by building a new 115,000 square foot facility in Stephens County’s Hayestone Brady Business Park. The new facility will allow for their continued growth across multiple existing product lines. This is their fifth major expansion in Toccoa-Stephens County within the last 20 years, and, with this expansion, ASI has invested over $100 million in Stephens County since 2015. They have also seen their employee base grow to over 400 employees.

“ASI’s continued investment in Stephens County is exactly what long-term economic development success looks like. This is a company that continues to grow where it’s planted, and that speaks to the strength of the partnerships at the local and state level,” said Deputy Commissioner of Global Commerce Misti Martin, Georgia Department of Economic Development. “By aligning workforce development and industry needs, this community has created the kind of environment where companies like ASI can expand with confidence. Georgia is committed to supporting our existing industries, and this expansion is a great example of how we work together to create opportunity across the state.”

Doug Hitchon, executive vice president and chief operating officer, ASI Southeast, Inc. said, “No company is able to have the success and growth we’ve experienced without a great team of associates and team members who work safely to take care of our customers on an hourly basis. The second group I’d like to thank is our ownership – the Rolla family. They are committed to our employees and invest in our future so we can all be successful. Finally, I want to say we are thankful for the relationships, commitment, and support from our local leadership. In 2021, ASI told Stephens County that without additional workforce housing, we could not continue to expand here. The leadership listened, the Stephens County Development Authority made it a strategic goal, County leadership approved contentious rezoning requests, and in the last five years, we have seen tremendous strides made to add housing inventory to support the growth of our local workforce, all of which ensured our choice to expand in Stephens County. We understand that growth and advancement take risks, and we were concerned that the leadership here wasn’t willing to take the leap. We nor Stephens County can move forward alone. We have a great relationship with partners like the Stephens County School System that has helped us with our very successful WBL initiative, and local suppliers like Mark Wilkinson Lumber and Adams Container. You don’t do things like this by yourself, so thank you.”

Brian Akin, Chairman of Stephens County Development Authority, said, “On behalf of the Stephens County Development Authority, I want to thank ASI Southeast for their continuous investment in our community.  ASI’s roots run very deep in Stephens County, and they are a tremendous corporate citizen.  Nothing is more satisfying in the economic development business than seeing a local company successfully grow and expand their operations.  ASI’s growth continues to spur the investment of their local suppliers, which further fuels our local economy.”

Chris Rickman, County Commission Chair, said, “Stephens County’s relationship with ASI Southeast has spanned the generations. County Commissioners and leaders have come and gone, but ASI has been here investing in our community and employing our citizens through it all. The Stephens County Board of Commissioners is committed to ensuring the continued success of ASI, as their success ensures the success of our community.”

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD)’s Project Manager Brandon Lounsbury assisted ASI Southeast with this newest expansion on behalf of Georgia, along with Stephens County Development Authority President & CEO, Brittany Ivey.
