Decision Day Looms
A decision on Lane Kiffin’s future is expected by Saturday after the Egg Bowl. No one knows how this is going to play out – Ole Miss, Florida, and LSU are all awaiting Kiffin’s decision. Additionally, the college football playoff committee may enact a penalty on Ole Miss if Kiffin leaves, dropping them in the rankings and potentially leaving them out of the playoffs a la Florida State in 2023. One thing is crystal clear – the CFP committee is absolutely terrible at their job.
QB Controversy on the Plains

One would think Knight will come in at the first sign of poor performance from Daniels, though the Iron Bowl is quite the spotlight for anyone’s second real game action.
Another Extension Incoming
Schools are extending their coaches at warp speed to ward off potential suitors. The latest example seems to be Missouri, which has taken the formal steps towards approving an extension for head coach Eli Drinkwitz. Drinkwitz has done a fine job at Mizzou, and they would be wise to hang on to him.

Just before the publication of this article, it is being reported that Arkansas will hire USF head coach Alex Golesh to be their next head coach. Golesh had USF in contention for a playoff spot for most of the season and will now look to take the Razorbacks back to at least bowl eligibility.
