HARTWELL, Ga. — A Hartwell man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he fled from law enforcement following a domestic violence incident Sunday night.
According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Forest Circle shortly after 8 p.m. on May 31 in response to a reported physical domestic violence incident. While en route, deputies received information that the suspect had left the scene in a white Ford Crown Victoria and was traveling on New Prospect Road. Deputies located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but authorities said the driver refused to stop and fled, leading deputies on a pursuit.
The chase ended at a residence on Tanglewood Lane, where the driver exited the vehicle and ran from deputies on foot, said Hart County Sheriff Chris Carroll. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
Carroll identified the suspect as 32-year-old Jamie Terrell Odister of Hartwell. Deputies charged Odister with battery under the Family Violence Act and felony fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement.
No injuries were reported.
