Hall County sheriff’s deputies charged a Clermont man with driving under the influence after a traffic accident that injured him and his passenger Saturday morning in North Hall. Deputies responded to the one-car wreck at Lula Road and Huckleberry Lane at approximately 2:00.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of a 2021 Toyota Camry, Lucas Shane Turner, 19, was westbound on Lula Road. He attempted to negotiate a curve and hydroplaned, causing the vehicle to leave the road. The car then entered an embankment, rolled over and came to rest against a tree.
Turner was taken to the hospital for what deputies classified as “visible” injuries. He was released there on citations for DUI-alcohol, no seatbelt, failure to maintain lane and defective tires. Turner’s passenger, Stephen Patrick Lynch, 18, of Gainesville, also suffered “visible” injuries but declined transport.
