CLEVELAND, Ga. — City officials have issued a second boil water advisory this week following another water main break, this time involving a six-inch line near 203 Green Street.
The latest advisory comes just days after a separate advisory was issued following a leak in water lines in the West Kytle Road area.
According to the city, the current advisory affects customers in the following areas:
- Green Street
- Cox Creek Drive
- Quillian Street
- Boulevard Street
- Mountain Overlook Drive
- Lunsford Lane
- Shilo Drive
- Townview Drive
- Bobwhite Circle
- Pinecrest
- Pinecrest Circle
Officials said residents in the impacted areas should boil all water used for drinking, cooking and food preparation until further notice.
City crews are working to repair the damaged line and restore normal service. The advisory will remain in effect until water testing confirms the system is safe for consumption.
Officials said updates will be provided as testing results become available.
Cleveland City Manager Kevin Harris told Now Georgia, “We are working with our engineer to finalize a long-term strategic plan, and both of these issues where the particular break occurred are already included in that plan. I expect to receive a preliminary report in the next month (by the end of June).”
He thanked residents for their patience as crews work to restore service and ensure water safety.
