FRANKLIN SPRINGS — A Franklin County man was arrested Thursday following a weeks-long investigation into the alleged distribution of child pornography, according to Franklin County Sheriff Scott Andrews.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and GBI digital forensic investigators, executed a search warrant May 7 at a residence on College Heights in Franklin Springs.

According to Andrews, the investigation began after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Following the investigation by the sheriff’s office Criminal Investigations Division, Tidus Parker was arrested and charged with six criminal counts related to the distribution of child pornography.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are expected.

Andrews said there is no danger or risk to residents of Franklin Springs or the general public.

He also thanked the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, the GBI Criminal Investigation and Digital Forensics units, and the Franklin Springs Police Department for assisting in the investigation.
