Who We are
We embarked on our agricultural journey after leaving the bustling city of Atlanta for the peaceful North Georgia countryside, seeking a more intentional lifestyle. Our intention wasn’t to become traditional farmers but to reconnect with nature and access fresh, ethically-sourced food. However, we soon realized that finding the high-quality food we desired was more challenging than anticipated, as many local options did not meet our standards. This led us to a crucial realization: to enjoy the wholesome food we envisioned, we needed to take action ourselves. Fueled by determination and a desire to learn, we embraced farming, which ultimately transformed our diet and deepened our connection to the land and nature.
Our journey into the world of agriculture began with a significant life change when we made the decision to leave the bustling city of Atlanta behind. We sought refuge in the serene landscapes of the North Georgia countryside, yearning for a slower pace and a more intentional way of living. Our goal was not to become farmers in the traditional sense; rather, we simply wanted to reconnect with nature and gain access to fresh, locally-sourced food that was cultivated with care and respect for the environment.
As we settled into our new surroundings, we quickly discovered that finding the high-quality, ethically produced food we desired was not as easy as we had hoped. Despite the abundance of grocery stores and farmers’ markets, it became increasingly clear that the products available often fell short of our standards for freshness and ethical practices. We were in search of pasture-raised eggs that came from hens living in their natural habitat, grass-fed beef that roamed freely and grazed on lush pastures, and livestock that was raised with compassion and good stewardship.
After much contemplation, we reached a pivotal realization: if we truly wanted to enjoy the wholesome, nourishing food we envisioned, we would need to take matters into our own hands. This epiphany ignited a passion within us, leading us down an unexpected path into the world of farming. With determination and a willingness to learn, we embraced the challenge of cultivating our own land, nurturing animals, and growing the very food we craved. Little did we know, this journey would transform not only our diet but our entire way of life, connecting us more deeply to the land and the rhythms of nature.
