*A Savannah police chase ended recently in death for an innocent motorist and his passenger. A Savannah rideshare driver and passenger died when their vehicle was hit by the one running from police. Investigators say an SUV hit their car after running through a red light at Capital Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver was arrested for murder, vehicular homicide, and DUI.
*The AJC reports ICE has arrested nearly 14,000 people in Georgia so far this year. The state is fifth in the country behind Texas, Florida, California, and New York in the number of such arrests. That’s a “large” increase over 2025, according to the report, and amounts to an average of 41 per day.
