This week’s Hall County Commission (HCC) meeting will be held tonight instead of Thursday night. Voting meetings are usually held Thursday night.
The agenda includes appointing Susan King and Bradley Dunckel to the planning commission which has been suspended following allegations earlier this year that some members had been violating the state’s Open Meetings law.
Approval and authorization for the Chairman to execute the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) FY 2026 Local Roads Assistance (LRA) Grant application for $2.7 million for six miles of road resurfacing on six county roads: Hog Mountain, Industrial Boulevard, Chestatee Cut-Off, Ridge Road, Thomas Road and Donna Way. The county’s cost would be $31,700.
Several planning and zoning requests are also on the agenda, including a non-profit retreat center on 90 acres on Ben Parks Road near Wade Welchel Road.
Also, a group home for men and women “seeking spiritual renewal, personal growth, and recovery from life-controlling challenges,” according to the applicant, Made for More Missions. It’s planed for four acres on Mountain View Road near T Moore Roaed.
And an office warehouse on four acres on Old Dahlonega Highway at Lodge Drive.
The meeting will be streamed on 97.5 Glory FM at 6:00.
