In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, a special presentation by the Chestatee River Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Chapter and a ceremony were held at the Stephens County History Museum and Currahee Military Museum on Saturday, April 18, explains Museum Director Andrea Dalrymple.
The presentation was on George Washington and the beginning of the United States military. After the presentation, the DAR donated World War II Victory Scarves to the museum, said Dalrymple.
The DAR is an official sponsor of America 250.
The Stephens County History Museum and Currahee Military Museum is located at 160 North Alexander Street in Downtown Toccoa. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
