LAVONIA — Two men have been arrested following a multi-agency investigation into a series of commercial burglaries in Franklin and Hart counties, according to Franklin County Sheriff Scott Andrews.
Authorities executed a search warrant Friday, April 17, on Hartwell Road in Lavonia as part of the investigation. The operation involved the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Canon Police Department and Lavonia Police Department.
After a weeks-long investigation by the Franklin and Hart County sheriff’s offices’ criminal investigations divisions, along with local police departments, Isaac J. Simms, 33, and Levi N. Simms, 31, were arrested and charged with offenses related to burglaries in Canon and Lavonia, Andrews said.
Additional charges are expected from Hart County, according to the sheriff.
Andrews encouraged anyone with information about ongoing investigations or criminal activity to contact the sheriff’s office by email or phone.
He also thanked the agencies involved for their work on the case, noting the coordinated effort between county and municipal law enforcement.
