Concerned citizens and business owners packed Toccoa City Hall to ask the City Commission if more dates could be added to the Ida Cox Summer Concert Series on Monday, April 13. After hearing from ten people, Commissioner Terry Carter presented a motion to reestablish concerts on the open dates in June and July.

Olivia Adams, owner of Magic Oven, started a petition about the Ida Cox Concerts and was pleased that commissioners are trying to add more dates this summer.

The petitions pulled the businesses together, added Adams.

Commissioners listened to the community and will now try to add more concerts, said Toccoa Mayor Evan Hellenga.

The motion to add more dates in June and July for the free Ida Cox Concerts passed unanimously by the Toccoa City Commission. Main Street Toccoa and the Downtown Development Authority will be asked to try to book bands for those open dates.
