Two Habersham County sheriff’s deputies were slightly injured Thursday afternoon in Clarkesville.

“Thursday afternoon, two Habersham County Sheriff’s Office deputies were attempting to serve an involuntary mental commitment…in Clarkesville,” according to a social media posting by the sheriff’s office, “and the individual refused to go and became combative.”

Deputies were able to restrain him and take him to Gainesville for treatment but not before Clarkesville Police and the state patrol responded as backup for the deputies.

The deputies did not require treatment though the post did not say what kinds of injuries they suffered.
